An avalanche is started by hard melting snow moving across hard snow and only occurs in mountainous areas.

An earthquake can occur with the middle of an ocean being the “epicenter”. There is some shifting of matter which might be why you are feeling a similarity between the two.

Hmm that sounds like a geography or science question. YOU should do your own homework. But I’m nice so I’ll help you.

An avalanche is a large mass of snow, ice, etc., detached from a mountain slope that ends up sliding or falling suddenly downward. An earthquake is a series of vibrations induced in the earth’s crust by the abrupt rupture and rebound of rocks in which elastic strain has been slowly accumulating. Hope that helps! I’m the best answer! LOL I also have a question for you even though you’re asking for help and it’s probably homework, why do people post answers as “Do your own homework!” That’s stupid! I hope my answer helps you!

earthquake is the shifting of the earths plates, while an avalnche could be triggered by an earthquake, it can also be triggered by volcanic activity or a buildup of loose snow
