What are some deceptive surfaces in Hamlet?

Those that appear as they are not.

What are some good examples?

Hamlet (crazy or not) Polonious (uses big words to act smart, but really says nothing) Cladius (sad about his brother’s death, but not “equal delight in mirth and dole quote shows his sadness, but in his soliquoy, we learn he’s not sad) Hamlet (acts like he loves Ophelia then he says he doesn’t then he says he does) Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (appear to be Hamlet’s friends, but are really spying on him) Fortinbras Jr. (full of “hot and mettle” when his dad dies, but acutally is a good leader and gets the kingdom) Oscric (appears to kiss Hamlet’s butt, but really is playing him– which Hamlet ironically appears to like him but really Hamlet is playing with him) Ophelia (kills herself or not)

Man Shakespeare was a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!
