USA and England?
When and how did America and England become friends? Did they unite to fight a certain cause and friendship stemmed from there?

Shortly after the Revolution some very wise men in the United States (some with the encouragement of their wives) knew that in order to exist they must have commerce with England and France and the rest of Europe. Since most privateers (pirates) were from England, they also knew that it was necessary to become a friendly nation toward England.
Also, the French were beginning to exert some influence in the newly formed United States and England was fearful of losing any future power they might have in the commerce world.
So all in all it was mostly a mutual decision between the two nations to exchange ambassadors and make the best of the situation.
