Every time you need to do conversion, write this down on the side as working.

1kg = 1000mg

1L = 1000ml

1km = 1000m

and so on and so forth. After you know these, all you have to do is multiple or divide.

In the example you give, so 1kg gives you 1000mg, all you have to do is divide 82 by 1000 and you get the answer.

And now you try the second one yourself.

to go from mg to kg, you move the decimal 6 place to the left

.000082kg

To go from kg to mg, you move the decimal 6 places to the right

235,000,000mg

Well I guess I’ll be nice unlike that last person.

82 mg = .000082 kg

235 kg = 235,000,000 mg

Get it?
