UGH I’ve been stuck on this for hours!!!??! (English HW)?

Pre Ap homework:

Basically we’re doing gerunds and participles used as direct objects, subjects, obj. of prepositions, etc. Well how on earth does this work!?

How can you make a sentence with the word disdainful as an object of preposition???

How can you use disbelieving as a direct object?

How can disturbed be used as a predicate nominative??

And how can all of this be accomplished while still making sure there’re gerunds in the sentence!?

UGH.

HELP PLEASE

OH MY.

The object of the preposition must be a thing, an object.

to the store on the roof by the table near the fire

near the disdainful? on the disdainful? around the disdainful?

by the disdainful would work.

The insults were hurled by the disdainful.

The evidence amazed the disbelieving.
