The sum of all angles of a triangle must equal 180 degrees. Therefore, the first angle equals 40 degrees, the second angle equals 80 degrees and the third angle equals 60 degrees.

Lets make the first angle a variable, x.

so, x (angle 1) + 2x (angle 2) + (x+20) (angle 3)= 180 (total degrees is a triangle)

it looks like: x+2x+(x+20)=180

or x+2x+x+20=180

combine like terms-

4x+20=180

subtract 20

4x=160

divide by 4

x=40

so, your first angle is 40 degrees.
