((14.1 x 21.7) / 2) x 10 = 1529.85 square meters
Basically the decagon is split into 10 triangles. The base of each of these triangles is the length of one side- 14.1 meters. The height of each of these triangles is the apothem- 21.7 meters. Therefore you get the area of ONE of these triangles by doing Base x Width x Height, divided by 2. Since there are 10 triangles [one for each side of the decagon] you then multiply the whole thing by 10.
