How things have changed. The news is full of new rules for students. No hugging, no baggy pants, etc. I even saw one that said some states are not going to permit students to wear colognes, perfumes, aftershaves, etc, because someone might be allergic or have asthma. When I was in school, we had lockers, no need for bookbags. We could hug. We all dressed appropriately because we CHOSE to. We could carry a pocketknife because we knew what the appropriate uses for a pocketknife were. We weren’t handed condoms. A pregnant high school student was a rarity. We didn’t have school shootings or bomb threats. What happened? and how does it change? What can we do?
