Living things obtain and use energy.
Living things grow and develop.
Living things reproduce.
Living things respond to their environment.
Living things adapt to their environment.
Best of luck.
M – Movement (can it move?)
R – Respiration (can it breathe?through whatever means it uses)
N – Nutrition (can it feed?,does it eat?)
I – Irritability (does it respond to stimulus?)
G – Growth (does it grow?)
E – Excretion (does it pass out waste products?)
R – Reproduction (does it reproduce?)
D – Death (can it die?)
These are what you need to consider. If it does all these, then yes it is a living thing.Though some people argue that death shouldn’t be considered.
The seperation of organic and inorganic substances is the presence of carbon, one of the native elements.
However, if you actually are trying to distinguish to between living and dead then the obvious ones are the life essentials, breathing, eating, drinking, sleeping, and so on.
Movement
Respiration
Sensitivity
Nutrition
Excrement
Reproduction
Growth
Does it need food and water?
go from there….those are the obvious ones
