statics vector problem … please help?
The beam is to be hoisted using two chains. Determin ethe magnitudes of forces Fa and Fb acting on each chain in order to develop a resultant force of 600N directed along the positive y axis Set (delta) to 45 degree. There are no diagram with this question … please help

Does this mean the angle between the chains and the vertical is 45? If so your vector triangle has two forces, both equal meeting at a (45+45) = 90 degree angle and the third side is 600. So x^2 + x^2 = 600, 2x^2 = 600, x^2 = 300, etc
But this seems kind of simple. What does delta mean?
