2 hours after a freight train leaves Delhi a passenger train leaves the same station travelling in the same direction at an average speed of 16 km/hr. After travelling 4 hrs the passenger train overtakes the freight train. The average speed of the freight train was?
A. 30
B. 40
C.58
D. 60

None of those could be correct. Are you sure you have the right numbers? The freight train would be traveling slower than 16km/hr. From my calculations, 10.667 km/hr would be correct.
If the passenger train was travelling 60km/hr (maybe you heard it wrong? ’60’ sounds like ’16’), then the answer would be B, 40 km/hr.
