There is a beautiful correlation between the symbol e and the natural log ln. To solve this let’s first change 2k to x ; 2k=x (this will make typing easier). Ok here is the correlation:

[e^x =3] is the same thing as [ln3=x]. Calculate ln3 in your calculator and you will get 1.098612289 (don’t round off now because this is the value for x and going back to the expression x=2k, k will be half of x which gives 0.549306 Finally, rounding off to 10,000th you will get 0.5493 as your answer.

Short version k=0.5493

Take the natural log of both sides, that eliminates the e

Then its 2k = ln3

Now just divide through by 2

2k=ln3(because lne=1)

k=(ln3)/2

P.S.:you can put ln because both sides are positive.i hope that you know that e^whatever is always positive.
