EX: 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6

the larger the denominator, the smaller the value of the fraction

or find the lcd of 3, 4, 5 and 6

3= 1 x 3

4 = 2^2

5= 1 x 5

6 = 2 x 3

take the largest exponent value of each number and use each number only one time

2^2 x 3 x 5

4 x 3 x 5

12 x 5

60

Now convert fractions take a, b, c, d times the value to change the denominator

1/3 = a/60 = 20/60

1/4 = b/60 = 15/60

1/5 = c/60 = 12/60

1/6 = d/60 = 10/60

again 1/6 is the smallest fraction

Good Luck. Two methods.

I don’t know why you need 2 ways. If all the denominators are the same, then the fraction with the lowest numerator will be the smallest fraction.

look for the smallest numerator. if it’s a typo and you mean the numerators are the same, then you need to change it so the denominators are the same and then compare the numerators

what do you want to do–change them to a decimal, and then see the smallest? Just check the numerator & be done, and on, on, on with your life.
