I assume by this time in Crim. Jus. 101 you’ve studied “juvenile offenders.” Possibly the last chapter you read was “How Juvenile Offenders are typed.” Your prof is now asking you to put these two ideas together.

Now my serious answer (sorry but it’s late): Think why must we as juvenile justice professionals be able to consider offenders as “types” (how is that important to our job?); Then think in what ways might we type them and is by biological characterisitcs an effective, workable and moral way of doing so.

Don’t Try This At Home
The question means should a juvenile offender be tried according to their body type. A 16 yo boy could be quite adult physically, and the question wonders if he should be tried as an adult because of his physical attributes.

My answer would be an unequivocal no. If you are going to type a juvenile offender to try them as an adult it should be because of emotional maturity, not physical maturity.
