Should I use papyrus or printer paper for my next big essay. This is my WHOLE grade.?

My teacher didn’t tell me what to use. All I know is that I’m doing this project on ancient Egypt.

Where do you find papyrus anyways?

You can buy papyrus at most art stores. It won’t work in your printer because it is too textured and is rigid enough to jam the printer. But you could always print on printer paper or transparent paper (at office stores like officedepot & staples) and glue it to the papyrus.

If it’s going through the printer, you want printer paper. Papyrus would likely jam the printer, and I doubt it would take ink or toner well.

If you thought the teacher might find the extra effort appealing, you could hand write on papyrus, though I’m curious if it would take ballpoint pen well. Papyrus is basically layers of plant fibers pressed and dried together, which doesn’t sound like ballpoint would work well — though I’ve never tried it. You might have to get a fountain pen.

As for where — the Internet has everything. I did a quick search and found some at http://www.dickblick.com/zz112/39/ — I’m sure there’s more out there.

I’m thinking that your teacher will be more impressed by the content of your essay. Once you have a good essay developed, if you still have time, you could go for effect with the papyrus paper

It sounds like a really neat idea, but do the book work first!

Good luck, I hope someone else here knows where to find the paper for you.
