How about this: write a story that appears to talk about a prisoner being held captive in the most horrible conditions ever… no food, nothing to do, no one to tak to (maybe “solitary confinement”); sitting and staring at the same dreary blank wall for what has seemed like forever; wondering if he’ll ever see the light of day again, ever feel the grass beneath his toes; throat parched; perhaps he attempts to think of a way to escape, but gives up because he knows it will be useless; all hope is gone……. and then at the end, the door opens and a woman walks in who says, “Okay Billy, your time-out is over. You can get up from the corner now.”
