Sentence structure, sort of?
Our friend could be seen taking precaution as she made way closer to the wall.
Should there be a comma after precaution? (… taking precaution, as she made…)
It doesn’t seem to work with my head, but Word says I should………. never trust the thing…

Yes, the comma goes after the word, “precaution”. It would be a natural pause when saying the sentence out loud.
