Take a regular ketchup packet from BK or McDonald’s and put it in a water bottle filed with water and seal the lid tight. The packet will float and when you squeeze the bottle the increased pressure will cause the packet to sink. You can stop it halfway or at any point by altering the pressure.

It demonstrates barometric pressure effects. The higher the pressure, the reduced buoyancy of the air in the packet.

It make a nifty “magic” trick if they don’t see you squeezing the bottle.

I did a science fair project about how different types of light affect plant growth when I was in middle or high school (I forget).

I grew the same type of plant in a box and 1 was exposed to a black light, 1 was exposed to a ‘growth’ light, 1 was exposed to a regular lightblub, and the control was outside in sunlight. then I measured their height and made a graph of it.

I didn’t win, but I got a ribbon.

Here’s one I saw at a school science fair that would just require you to find willing volunteers – ie your classmates.

Is there a difference between male and female resting blood pressure? Then – Does listening to (fill in the blank) music raise or lower your resting blood pressure.

Then just get one of those portable blood pressure monitors.

Here are a few general weather ideas.

I’m not so sure Wal-Mart is a normal store, though.

I’m answering your question about the fire, I can’t answer it again.

In the oven for about 15-20 minutes, but I’d take it out after 10 or 15. I’ve never tried it before, good luck.
