Religious migration?

I’m doing a project in AP Human Geography (Advanced Placement), and it is on migration due to war. I picked the Partition of India as an example of this and was wondering if anyone knew a historical event, past or present, that is similar to the partition of India. The only thing that came to my mind was Christianity, and the migration and fighting, but I don’t know much about it.

The Great Upheaval, also known as the Great Expulsion, The Deportation, the Acadian Expulsion, or to the deportees, Le Grand Dérangement, was the forced population transfer or ethnic cleansing of the Acadian population from Nova Scotia between 1755 and 1763, ordered by British governor Charles Lawrence and the Nova Scotia Council.

After 1764, many exiled Acadians finally settled in Louisiana, which had been transferred by France to Spain before the end of the French and Indian War. The name Acadian was corrupted to Cajun, which was first used as a pejorative term until its later mainstream acceptance.
