they have to grow and reproduce to be alive

it depends on what you mean by living. Both rain and fire are made up of atoms that are indeed alive. Rain happens when water turns from a gas into a liquid. Fire happens when a combustible compound returns to a gaseous state.

But if you definition of living means they have emotions and a soul, the answer is no. Humans tend to give these things human qualities because of our own vanity. Rain doesn’t gently caress you face, you just happen to be in a place where the rain and wind bring on those feelings: your feelings.

fire doesn’t hungrily suck the trees into it’s fiery depths, it’s merely doing what fire does.

forgive me if i am wrong but i believe that because rain is water and water is made up of molecules and atoms it is alive

but fire i belive is not
