Need help with spontaneous debating!?
Ok, well im really good at giving speachs and always win declamation contests. The only problem is, when it comes to spontaneous debating i FREAK OUT! For example they call me on stage and give me a topic there and then and i have to speak on it for 2 minutes….i draw a blank and get all nervous. I need some advice as how to be composed and speak on a topic given to me there and then. Also can anyone give me a website which has general knowledge stuff, which can help for spontaneous debating…becuz if you dont know about a topic…how are you going to speak on it!!!

Take the deep breath while you look at the topic and deside if you know anything about it or not. If you do know then it should not be a real problem. If you have no idea what so ever then it is a real stomach twister.
If you are in these kind of tests then proctice. Make a bunch of slips with different subjects and when you make time just grab one and start talking.
I absolutely hate to have to talk in fromt of people but when I do they say I do well. I don’t think they tell me the truth.
