Ever heard the phrase “name your poison”? It comes from the Prohibition era when black-market alcohol was so dangerous that it killed people. The prohibition of alcohol caused the birth of organized crime and killed more people than alcohol had ever done in the past. It was a social experiment that proved that the prohibition of alcohol was impossible, and that the only way to reduce the problems of alcohol was through education and peer pressure.
Alcohol, or rather drunks, are responsible for violent crime and widespread illness that costs the US an almost incalculable amount of money. But you must give an explanation of how you would outlaw alcohol without repeating the disaster that happened the first time around.
Good luck.
