As for the comparison paper, perhaps compare the difference between the “P” and “J” accounts in the Bible (the first two stories of Genesis in particular) if you are a religious person. If not, another topic that you can compare and contrast is the whole concept of Faith vs. Fact….how religion and science are opposite subjects, yet at the same time, do compare in some ways. You can also compare your school (if you’re in the West Coast) to schools in the East Coast, or vise versa.

Semi-colons are a period and a comma mixed. They separate complete sentences and connect similar ideas. ;
Commas are for when you want to breathe, but not stop. Kind of like a yield sign. ,
Colons tend to lead to lists. Think of the two dots : as bullets in a list. :
Apostrophes are like upside down commas. They shorten things. Instead of using a comma to pause, you use the “opposite” of a comma to eliminate pauses. ‘
