Probability question.. help me, please?

Help me with this probability question, please?

Thank you. A lot.

<3 (And show the result and explain/show how to get there, please? =( What is the probability, if I roll a fair die and flip a fair coin, that get a two on the die? A tail on the coin? A two on the die and a tail on the coin? A two on the die or a tail on the coin? Thank you!

multiply the fractions, which are the probability of each event occuring…

1/6×1/2 so the probability, is that once out of every twelve occasions you roll the dice and flip the coin getting a two and a tail

1/12

the probability of getting a 2 on the die is 1 in 6 because there are 6 possibilities for what the die can be and one of the possibilities is the one we are looking for

the probability of getting a tail on the coin is 1/2 for the same reason therefore the probability of getting both is 1 in 12

the probability of getting either (the or statement) is equal to the probability of the die plus the probability of the coin

but because the events are not mutually exclusive (they can both happen at the same time) we have to subtract the probability of both happening which is 1/12 from the probability of the coin plus the probability of the die

so 1/6+1/2-1/12

which is 7/12

if you dont believe me write out all the possibilities there are 12 1:H 2:H…. etc 1:T 2:T etc.

you will find that 7 are either tails or have a 2 and 1 has both
