I would iterate that indeed you should pick a topic that your interested in or even something that you would like to learn how to do or improve. When giving a presentation, it is normal to be nervous but just remember to have a conversation with the crowd. Ask questions, tell a funny story, make it interesting. Above all if you are doing slides or something along those lines, don’t just read the slides, add content to what is on the screen. Scan your audience from left to right so that you involve the whole room. Practice on some relatives or friends so you can get some feedback. You don’t need to choose a complicated topic for the presentation. Pick something interesting and easy to be understood. Why don’t you ask or do some questionares about the interest of the audience.
