Please help me with this math problem: 3(x-1) > 2(x+1/2)?
Problem: 3(x-1) > 2(x+1/2)
3x-3 > 2x+1
+3 +3 (Added the 3 to the 1)
3x > 2x+4
And then would I have to do 3x/2x?? That would be 1.5…
Tthen there would be no x then…
I’m stuck here, please help! Thanks.
Favorite Answer
3x-3+3>2x+1+3
3x>2x+4-2x
3x-2x>4
x>4
you dont divide by 2x you do the opposite. since it is a positive 2x you subtract 2x on both sides leaving you with 1x or just x.
3x – 2x > 2x – 2x + 4 or x > 4
Thanks for showing your work and not just asking someone to solve your problem for you.
3x > 2x +4
but you should subtract 2x from both sides not divide.
3x > 2x + 4
-2x -2x
1x > 4 or just x>4
Hope this helps.
1. 3x-3>2x+1
