The length of a rectangle is 4 meters more than twice its width, If the perimeter of the rectangle is 44 meters, find the dimensions of the rectangle

length is 16 width is 6

x= width

2x+4= length

total is 4x+8+2x= 44

6x+8=44

6x=36

x=6

you can cnsider the width x. So the length is twice 2 of the width +4.

The perimeter is 44 so 2x + (2x+4)2 = 44

Then what you need to do is just solve the equation, so

2x + 4x + 8 = 44

6x + 8 = 44

6x= 36

x = 6 this is the width and to find the length you just add 6 to 2x+4.

so the length is 16
