Please Help ASAP (I need the answer in less than 15 minutes)?
I need to know wha t a control group is. I’m in the library at school working on my science fair topic “What effect does classical music have on chickens” and I have to turn it in in like 20 minutes, so I need help NOW PLEEEEASE!!!

A control group would be a group of chickens that you didnt play music for.

When you do an experiment, you do the experiment with one group and you have another group that’s a control group. Let’s say you have a new drug that cures the common cold. Okay, you find 20 people who have the cold, you give 10 people your new medicine, and you give 10 people a pill that is really only a little sugar. Then you track to see how all the people do. If the 10 people with your medicine do better than the other 10 (the control group) then your medicine works!

The control group is the group not exposed to the stimlus. In your case the control group is the group of chickens that does not hear the classical music.

The control group will have no changes in diet, environment, etc – but the catch is that the researcher can’t know which group is which. That’s called a double-blind experiment.
