I can show you a pattern

The number of 8 by 8 squares = 1 * 1 = 1

The number of 7 by 7 squares = 2 * 2 = 4

The number of 6 by 6 squares = 3 * 3 = 9

The number of 5 by 5 squares = 4 * 4 = 16

The number of 4 by 4 squares = 5 * 5 = 25

The number of 3 by 3 squares = 6 * 6 = 36

The number of 2 by 2 squares = 7 * 7 = 49

The number of 1 by 1 squares = 8 * 8 = 64

The number of all possible squares

= 1 + 4 + 9 + 16 + 25 + 36 + 49 + 64

= 204

I hope this helped
