Please help :)?

Given f(x)=3x+4

1. f(x) is a function because for every x value there is one and only one y value. In fact, it is a linear function, forming a straight line when you graph it.

2. To find the inverse of f(x), write it first as y=3x+4.

Then reverse the x and y to get x=3y+4.

Now solve for the new y in terms of x:

Subtract 4 from both sides: x-4=3y

Divide both sides by 3: 1/3 x – 4/3 = y.

Rewrite it, putting y first: y= 1/3 x – 4/3.

This is your inverse function.

3. Yes, the inverse is also a functioin, it is a straight line and for every x value there is one and only one y value.
