hey

please help?

can you help me with these math problems… 10 points?

1) if A = B.T/ R + z…. solve for B

2) if y+4/6 = x … solve for y in terms of x

3) write the equation of a line that contains the points ( 6,5) , ( 9,11) …

4) x^2 – 8 = 28 ( solve one variable)

|x – 4| = 12

|3x – 4| when x = -2

1) easy just use order of operations and solve for B.

A = B*T/R + Z

A – Z = B*T/R

R*(A-Z)=B*T

B=R/T*(A-Z)

2) Same thing as 1.

y+4/6=x

y=x-4/6

3) ok, a toughie!

first, you want to find the slope:

(11-5)/(9-6) = 6/3 = 2

now put into slope-intercept form, y=mx+b

y=2x+b, now find y-intercept (b)

5=2(6)+b

b=5-12

b=-7

now plug back into equation, y=mx+b

y=2x-7

4) not too bad…

x^2 – 8 = 28

x^2 = 28+8

x^2 = 36

x = sqrt(36)

x=plus/minus 6

x=6

5) easy…

|x – 4| = 12

(x – 4) = plus/minus 12

x = 12 + 4 OR x = -12 + 4

x=16 OR x=-8

6) i guess you just evaluate…

|3x – 4|

|3(-2) – 4|

|-6 – 4|

|-10|

=10

2. (y=x-4/6) the above answer for this isn’t correct.

4. (6) 6^2 – 8 = 28

5. (x=16 or x=-8)

6. (10) |-6-4| = |-10| = 10
