Florence was Antonio’s friend in his Catholicism classes. However, Florence was an atheist.The only reason he attended Catholicism classes was because his friends are there. Florence logically questioned the existence of God which troubled Antonio. He wanted Florence to believe in God, but did not know the answers. Because Florence logically denied the existence of religion, Antonio questioned many ideas: good, evil, and his faith. Finally, Antonio and Cico decided to reveal the secret of the Golden Carp to Florence so that he would have something to believe in. While they were looking for Florence, he suffered a terrible fate: he drowned in the lake before they were able to show him the Golden Carp.
