Physics help, please?

So i’ve been having a lot of problems with physics lately. I really dont get the stuff we’re doing right now because we learn the basic formulas, but we don’t really practice how to apply them, especially to harder problems. If someone could help clarify how to do any part or all of this next problem, it would be HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you!

A 82.0-kg person stands on a scale in an elevator. What is the apparent weight when the elevator is

(a)accelerating upward with an acceleration of 1.80 m/s2

(b) moving upward at a constant speed, and

(c) accelerating downward with an acceleration of 2.00 m/s2?

Can you give the equations? Different books use different equations. I don’t want to confuse you more if I use equations, you’ve never seen.
