need help with writing a story?
can someone please think of what i can write about? it has to involve a girl sleeping with a book near her with ivy coming out of it. i can’t think of a story to make out of it! ideas?

Hmm…. maybe you should write about how the girl has hallucinations and needs to go on some medicine… There are tons of things that could branch off of that one picture… does it have to be ABOUT her and the book, or does it just branch off and kind of tie the book into the plot?
If it is about the book, then the story should be about how her grand mother gave it to her, and they were very close and she died. So at night, to feel close to her, she sleeps with the book, only to find that it is magical… Then write about the crazy stuff she encounters…

“The Mysteries of Harris Burdick” by Chris Van Allsburg! I love that book. Doesn’t it involve a warning from the librarian? What does the ivy mean- is it deadly? Perhaps the book leads to another world?

something that’s unreal and maybe scary. take ideas from movies you have watched. make it sound like it’s actually happening in the story and in the end reveal that it was …”only a dream”…
