In the Greek community, the people of a wealthier class like nobles and landholding aristocrats took over power of the kings. The executive branch in the Roman culture ran the day-to-day affairs. Sometimes they would also make sacrifices to the gods to show there love. Without the Greek and Roman civilizations the USA would not be what it is today. A democracy is when the people of the city, state or country vote to decide what happens. The Greek and roman civilizations had many gods for it be Zeus (Jupiter), Poseidon (Neptune), or Hades (Pluto). In the Greek civilizations they had different types of government, oligarchy or democracy. An oligarchy is when wealthy people hold power.
