Need help with Spanish homework: un or UNA?

How do I know when to use ‘un’ or ‘una’ in my Spanish homework? In other words, when do you use which? Also, what about ‘la’ and ‘el’?

Una persona. Un senor.

La persona. El senor.

El (“the”, masculine singular definite article) with él (“he” or “it”)

La (“the”, feminine singular definite article)

Similar to Un and Una.

If your taking about a feminen object, that ends with an a, use la. If it’s masculine, us el. Same for una (feminen) and un (musculine). The end of the object should give you a clue.

Ex: La Gordita.

El Taco

Una Chicka,

Un Chicko

use “una” and “la” when the word ends in a which is called feminine. words like una chica or la camiseta

use un or el when the word is masculine like un lapiz or el hombre.
