Need help with my Algebra homework…?

Are my answers right? If not please help me….Thanks

Evaluate the given functions for the given values. Use function notation to express your answers.

1) g(x) = 4x – 2 if x = -9, 2, 6.

For this one I got (-9, -38), ( 2,6), (6, 22).

2) g(x) = x^2 + 3x – 9 if x = 4, -1, -3.

For this one I got (4, -5), (-1, -4 4/5), (-3, 1/64)

3) {(x, f(x)) | f(x) = x – 2 if x = 0, 2, 4, 6}

For this one I got (0, -2), (2, 0), (4, 2), (6, 4)

4) f(x) = 5x + 6

This one I didn’t understand.

5) {(x,y) | 4x+ 3y = 9}

This one I didn’t understand.

6) If the range is {100, 200}, find the domain.

For this one I put 100.

No (1) is correct.

(2) You have to find the value of x^2 + 3x – 9 when x is (a) 4,

(b) -1 and(c) -3, so:

g(4) = 4^2 + 3*4 – 9

= 16 + 12 – 9

= 28 – 9

= 19.

g(-1) = (-1)^2 + 3*(-1) – 9

= 1 – 3 – 9

= 1 – 12

= – 11.

g(-3) = (-3)^2 + 3*(-3) – 9

= 9 – 9 – 9

= -9.

3 is correct for f(x) = x – 2

4, 5, and 6 are not clear to me.

Hope this helps, Twiggy.

BTW, it`s very refreshing to find that you have attempted the questions, and you`re not just asking for the answers. Keep on working hard ! ! !

4) f(x)= 5x + 4

you should know that Df in here is the whole real numbers. i mean you can put any x ni it. for example 2 , 1/2, …

so you should use the decart’s dimensions.

the same for else
