#1

first step makes it:

3x-12+7=6

second step makes it:

3x-5=6

third step makes it:

3x=11

fourth step makes it:

x=11/3 or 3 and 2/3

EXPLAINED:

first step makes it:

3x-12+7=6

you multiply the 3 from outside the para. to the numbers inside to get this.

second step makes it:

3x-5=6

simplify the -12 and the 7 to get this.

third step makes it:

3x=11

subtract, or in this case, add the -5 to the 6 [the other side of the equals sign] to get this.

fourth step makes it:

x=11/3

divide both sides by 3….the 2 numbers on the left cancel out and 11 divided by 3 gets you this.

#2

first step makes it:

18x+45=3x

second step makes it:

45=-15x

third step makes it:

-3=x

EXPLAINED:

first step makes it:

18x+45=3x

you multiply the 9 from outside the para. to the numbers inside to get this.

second step makes it:

45=-15x

you subtract, or in some cases add, the 18x to the 3x [ the other side of the equals sign] to get this.

third step makes it:

-3=x

you divide both sides by 15….the 2 numbers on the right cancel out and 45 divided by the 15 gets you this.

are you in the 9th grade or something? i remember doing this when i was little. ha

1)

A. start by multiplying the 3 into the equation in the parenthesis.

Eg (3x-12)+7=6

B. Solve by moving everything without and X to the other side of the equation.

Eg 3x=11

C. Solve for X

X=11/3

2)

A. Same thing as step A from number 1

Eg- 18X+45=3X

B. Get all the X’s on one side and everything without X on the other.

Eg 15X= -45

C. Solve for X

Eg X= -45/15

X= -3

1.Distribute 3 into x – 4 so it would be 3x – 12 + 7 = 6. Add likes terms which will become 3x – 5 = 6. Add 5 on both sides. 3x = 11. Divide 3 to both sides leaving x by itself. x = 11/3

2.Distribute 9 into (2x + 5). Which results in 18x + 45 = 3x. Subtract 18x to both sides which becomes 45 = -15x. Divide -15 to both sides leaving x = -3.

1.you have to get x to cancel out

+4 becomes -4 which cancels out to 0 so now ur problem is 3(x)+7=6+7becomes -7 which equals to 0 and then ur stuck with 3x=6 divide 3x by 3x equals 1 6 divided by 3x equals 2 thats ur answer.

2.you have to get x to cancel out +5 becomes -5 equals out to 0 thyen divide 2x by 2 equals 1 so ur new equation is 9=3x divide 3by 3 equals 1 then divide 9 by 3 and you get 3 that is ur answer

ok, the goal is to get x alone, so you’d…

1) subtract 7 from both sides

divide each side by 3

then add 4 to each side

x should be by itself ….

2) 18x+45=3x

-45 -45

18x= 3x-45

-3x -3x

15x=-45

x=3

srry, hope that last one helps you understand too, i just couldnt explain it in words…
