Need help with a algebra 2 problem….?

4) John mixes two cleaning solutions to obtain 6 gallons of 7% ammonia. If he has a 3% solution and an 8% solution, how much of each should he use?

Set it up as a system of equations, then solve for one variable and plug that into the last one. Let x-the amount of 3% and y=the 8%.

Here’s the system………..

x+y=6

.03 + .08=.07
