On a dart board the radius of the bulls eye is one foot. The width of each of the bands A and b measure one foot. Any dart that hits the board has an equally likely chance of landing anywhere on it. What is the probability that a dart will land on band B?

cool problem

I would do this as the ratio of area of band B to the area of the board .

the radius of the board is 3′ radius center 1′ and band a and b each one foot

so area is pi * r^2 = pi * 3^2 = 9 * pi

area of band b is area of board – area of center and band a

area a = pi * 2^2 = 4* pi

so area of bandd b is pi(9-4) = pi *5

band b as a percentage of board is 5pi/9pi *100/1

500 * pi / 9 * pi =500/9 = 55.5555 %

I think thats right , check the maths
