Please Help ME!!!Due Tomorrow and I am lost!?

1. Simplify the rational expression:

x2 – 7x + 12

x2 – 16

This is a fraction

THis should be x^2-7x+12 as a numerator and x^2-16 as the denominator!

2. Divide:

x2 – 3x + 2÷x2 – 1

7x – 14 7x + 7

These are fractions

This should be x^2-3x+2 as first fractors numerator and 7x-14 for the denominator then divided by the fraction x^2-1 as numerator and 7x+7 as denominator.

3. Simplify:

√[49x12y4z8]

In the brackets should say : 49x^12y^4z^8

The ^ means exponents with the numbers beside it

4. Perform the indicated operations:

3√[3] + 2√[27] –√[12]

5. Multiply:

(8√[6] + 3√[2])(4√[6] – 5√[2])

6. Rationalize the denominator:

5____

√[3] + √[5]

This is also a fraction

Please help me understand the problems and the steps. Thanks

1) (x^2 – 7x + 12) / (x^2-16)

= [(x-4)(x-3)] / [(x-4)(x+4)]

= (x-3) / (x+4)

2) [(x^2 – 3x + 2) / (x^2 – 1)] / [(7x – 14) / (7x + 7)]

= [(x^2 – 3x + 2) / (x^2 – 1)] X [(7x + 7) / (7x -14)]

= (x^2 – 3x + 2)(7x + 7) / (x^2 – 1)(7x -14)

= (x – 2)(x – 1)(7x + 7) / (x – 1)(x + 1)(7x -14)

= (x-2)(7x+7) / (x+1)(7x-14)

3) √(49x 2y^4 z^8)

= 7y^2 z^4 √(2x)

4) 3√3 + 2√27 –√12

= 3√3 + 2√(9X3) – √(3X4)

= 3√3 + 6√3 – 2√3

= 7√3

5) (8√6 + 3√2)(4√6 – 5√2)

= 32(√6)(√6) – 40(√6)(√2) + 12 (√6)(√2) – 15 (√2)(√2)

= (32X6) – 28(√6)(√2) – (15X2)

= 192 – 28√12 – 30

= 162 – 28√(4X3)

= 162 – 56√3

6) 5 / (√3 + √5)

= 5 / (√3 + √5) X (√3 – √5) / (√3 – √5)

= 5(√3 – √5) / [(√3)^2 – (√5)^2]

= 5(√3 – √5) / (9 – 25)

= -5(√3 – √5) / 16

= 5(√5 – √3) / 16
