One reason why it is more important for me to get a degree than my parents or grandparents is because before it was easier to get a job without a degree. Now it is harder because big or new businesses require more knowledge so the business can be successful and hopefully become bigger. The government is now shutting down some businesses because the workers do a poor job or the products are not working right, or in grocery stores, the food is expired. Now managers are being stricter about the degrees so their business will be successful and the workers will do the work properly. If everyone had the necessary knowledge for the job, they would have more shoppers because the products are of good quality and price.

Another reason is because with a degree people earn more money which is necessary because these days gas, oil, diesel and other non-renewable resources are becoming more and more expensive each day due to the fact that most of it is gone and once it is, there is no way to get more. Earning more money is also important because it will be easier to support the family and pay the bills without having any debt to pay off in the future. It will also help to keep the household together and equipped with the necessary materials needed for school, work, and any other purposes.
