you need to know how to spell, feel and write thats about it. Theres alot of emotional vomit out there that passes as poetry. If you want to write poetry, well. Learn rhythme, the beat of the words as you say it. Flow, this goes along with rhythme, keep it moving, set the pace by the way you format your poem. profound thought or meaning. Don’t add so many freaking layers that no one knows what you mean. Make your point clear, and then add layers.

You are running VERY LATE if you have to hand it in on Friday, since when do you know you have to do it, you lazy b… ? Duh! 😉

Write your paper about how that perception changed over the years. In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, poetry was seen as something people could learn to do, as in: if you have knowledge about the techniques (taken from rhetorics and poetics, Greek philosophers) you can write poetry. Writing poems was about using he proper writing techniques, using schemes etc.

Starting roughly in the late 17th and 18th century was the notion that one cannot “learn” poetry. It is in yourself, you feel the need to express yourself and do so via poetry.

DISCUSS those two lines and in the end, add your personal feelings about this.

There you go, do the research work yourself now that I basically gave you your structure and content…

There is a great government website that has all kinds of information about careers in the United States. It will tell you what education you need, what skills you should have, what benefits you could expect to receive, the likelihood of finding work etc… in just about every perspective career you can think of

to write good poetry, no formal qualification is necessary, as many classic poets will stand testimony to.

However, the skillset common in all good poets includes:

1. creativity

2. good command over language (grammar, vocabulary and thesaurus)

3. sense of beauty

4. some romanticism

5. courage to think differently

6. power of imagination

7. sense of rythm

8. ability to express inner feelings

9. ability to express large number of thoughts in few simple words

10. honesty with words

I hope this much is sufficient to charge your own neural grey cells, and you are able to elaborate this further in your paper.

All the best.
