I am writing a paragraph, and have reworded but taken the information from a textbook. I would like to cite the information, and was wondering how to go about citing the whole paragraph

If it is more than 40 words I believe you must indent the whole paragraph and then cite it

In order to cite the paragraph you can either place it in quotes or you can indent and single space the paragraph.

You will then need a footnote at the end of the paragraph indicating the author, name of the work, publisher and date of publication.

If you have reworded the paragraph you can just include it in the body of your paper but use the footnote at the end of the paragraph.

Bad idea to cite an entire paragraph. Did you write a topic sentence? Won’t you need to write a sentence to follow the quote?

Here’s a link that will help. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/675/01/
