How old are you and what grade are you in? If I were you, I would figure this out by yourself. Consult your textbook. If you have to ask such basic question, I’m afraid you wouldn’t go very far in your studying. Thumb me down if you will, but there I said it!!!

You are mixing things up.

The prefixes giga, mega, kilo, centi, milli, micro, and nano are to show the size of the measurement.

The suffixes gram, meter, grade are to show the type of measurement.

For example, Gram is a unit of weight so a kilogram is one thousand grams. or 1000 units of weight.

There is a pretty decent web site to explain this at

http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/common.html

Good luck.

generally no one uses 10^-7 or 10^-8…… it goes like this.. centi milli micro nano pico…

centi 10^-2

milli 10^-3

micro 10^-6

nano 10^-9

pico 10^-12..

I won’t fill it in for you, but I’ll let you know that in metric, everything moves by 1 decimal place.

eg. 1 cm=10mm
