I have a question to answer for my essay, and dont quite understand… ‘Identify at least three genre defining texts and explain how they contribute to its evolution. Make specific references to them in named texts.’ Im doing action comedy as my genre. and chose lethal weapon 1, bad boys 1 and rush hour 3. Any help will be great.

The answer seems clear, just write a few paragraphs how these comedies hit it big and contributed as influences to new comedies being made.

Yeah, I think it’s just saying to write how each of the “three genre defining texts” you selected contributed to the development of that genre you picked, Action Comedy. Maybe by adding new elements and plot themes, or something…
