Math question please????

ok (2+1)2-1

do I do whats in the parenthesis and multiply by 1?(because 2-1 is 1. Or do the parenthesis and multiply by 2 and subtract 1??

So you Add withen the parentheses (Parentheses) and multiply by 2 (Multiplication) then Add one (Addition). That means:

(2+1=3)2-1
