1.

How far will an object dropped from a height of 1156ft. take to reach the ground?

d = 16t^2

t^2 = d / 16

t^2 = 1156 / 16 sec^2

t = sqrt(1156 / 16)sec

= 8.5sec.

2.

If an object takes exactly 4sec. to reach the ground, from what height has it been dropped?

d = 16*4^2

= 256ft.
