Math Logic Question?

You want to buy a new car, and you know the model you want. The model has three options, each one of which you can either take or not take, and you have a choice of four colors. So far 100,000 cars of this model have been sold. What is the largest number of cars that you can guarantee to have the same color and the same options as each other?

If I understand you correctly the answer would be 3,125

If you start with the options, there are 8 possible combinations of options.

A – B – C

A – B – 0

A – 0 – C

A – 0 – 0

0 – B – C

0 – B – 0

0 – 0 – C

0 – 0 – 0

And then each of these options have 4 possible color options, so 8*4 = 32 possible different combinations. If you divide the 100,000 cars sold by the 32 different options you get 3,125
