math homework help plz!?

we are doing some review and i kind of forgot how to do them…

State whether these are true or false and explain why:

1) (x-4) over (y-3) = (4-x) over (3-y)

2) Square root of (x³+7x²) = x times square root of (x+7)

thanks

1) True.

Multiply the top an bottom by -1 (Remember that -1/-1 = 1, so this doesn’t change the problem).

2) False.

sqrt(x^3 +7x^2)

= sqrt[x^2(x+7)]

= sqrt(x^2) * sqrt(x+7)

= |x| * sqrt(x+7)

we get for the first one -2/2 i.e -1

for second one 2/-2 its again -1

hence proved
